Frank Habineza Voted Social Affairs Parliamentary Commission Vice President

Opposition MP and President of the Democratic Green Party of Rwanda, Frank Habineza, has been elected Vice President, Social Affairs Commission, Parliament, Chamber of Deputies.

Habineza had no contender, and garnered 100% vote of the parliament (78 out of 78).

He said after his victory that, “Together with others we shall work hard to advocate for the well-being of Rwandans.”

He told parliament that he has worked in different domains to uphold well-being of citizens, like in Rotaract Club where he was involved in collecting clothes and other stuff to give to people in hospitals and villages.

Have also has run a project to help genocide survivors widows of Avega in Kigali and was an active member of Rwanda Red Cross while at University and before that.

“With my education in military and security studies, I did a part in human security, which makes me aware of human security problems like flooding, poor housing and many more,” he told Taarifa on Tuesday evening after his election.

Having been a presidential candidate and “committed to up-lifting the well-being of all Rwandans, they were glad and voted me,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Plenary Session also elected Hon. NGABITSINZE Jean Chrysostome, Secretary General PSD, as the Chairperson of the Committee on Public Accounts (PAC) and Hon. MUKARUGWIZA Annonciata as the Vice Chairperson.
