The Democratic Green Party of Rwanda wishes to inform the general public and members of the media that all allegations and accusations being made by Mr.Omar Leo, who was presented to the media yesterday by the National Police are null and void. However, we are pleased of his public appearance after having made many calls to search for him.

Eastern Africa Greens Federation Secretariat Established in Kampala,Uganda

The East Africa Greens Federation congress which brought together leaders and representatives of Eastern African Green parties from Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya and Burundi who met 8th – 9th November 2013 in Kigali Rwanda, resolved that the headquarters of the EAGF will be based in Kampala Uganda. The EAGF headquarters have been established on National Insurance Corporation Building (NIC), Plot 4 Pilkington Road, Kampala Uganda.

EAGF is a membership of Green Political Parties and Movements in Eastern Africa working in a coalition to achieve the following objectives

Global Greens Statutes Signed in La Paz, Bolivia

The Global Greens Coordination finally approved and signed the organisation's official statutes on 27th November 2013, in La Paz, Bolivia.

This happens after a period exceeding ten years, since the establishment of the Global Greens Movement in Canberra, Australia in 2001.

The third Global Greens Congress held in Dakar, Senegal during 2012, mandated the Global Greens Coordination to legalise the international greens family.

The headquarters have been established in Brussels, Belgium with a permanent secretariat.

This is an important milestone achieved.

Democratic Green Party of Rwanda Hosts the East African Greens Congress

For Immediate Release:

Kigali, 7  November 2013, - The Democratic Green Party Rwanda, will host the first ever East African Greens Congress, this Friday, 8th and Saturday 9th November 2013, at Bloom Back Hotel, Kigali.

This event will bring together Greens from the Ecological Party of Uganda, Mazingira Green Party of Kenya, Burundi Green Movement and the Democratic Green Party of Rwanda.

Political Bureau of the Democratic Green Party of Rwanda

The Political Bureau of DGPR is composed of the 9 Central Executive Committee members ( CEC), 13 Commisioners with the Commisioner General and 6 representatives from each of the 5 provinces, including the City of Kigali. The Central Executive Commitee and Commisionner make up the National Executive Commitee. The Political bureau is the second supreme organ of the party after the Congress and has a total number of 52 persons. Thier full details are as follows:

We, the founding members of the Democratic Green Party of Rwanda require the Government of Rwanda to operate within the limits set forth in the Constitution of the Republic of Rwanda.

 

As Green Democrats, we believe:

Non-violence and peaceful means of conflict resolution are the best solutions to national problems.
