The Democratic Green Party of Rwanda is pleased to inform members of the media and the general public that it successfully finalised leadership trainings for party members in both Rusizi and Bulera Districts. These trainings were conducted between 7th-22nd February 2015.
The trainings focused on the following themes:
- Political ideology and general principals of politics
- Political leadership and political conflict management
- Political competition: elections, rules and regulations during electoral campaigns
Members of the East African Greens Federation from the Democratic Green Party of Rwanda, Ecological Party of Uganda, Mazingira Greens Party of Kenya and Burundi Green Movement, met in Kampala, Uganda, from 12th-13th February 2015 and made a strategic plan for the next five years.
The strategic plan will help member parties in implementing the Green Ideology within the Eastern Africa Region.
This strategic planning workshop and the process were supported by the Westminster Foundation for Democracy and the Green Party of England and Wales.

Rwanda’s Supreme Court has issued a decision stating that it will not hear DGPR’s lawsuit on the non-respect of French Language, which was filed on 8th December 2014.
The Supreme Court decision states that, the case could not be accepted because the evidences submitted were not in form of laws or international conventions violated, but administrative decisions/actions, which could be heard by another competent court.
As we come to the close of the year, we take this moment to thank all our party members, supporters, the media fraternity, the Greens Family and the general public for the different support accorded to the party during 2014.
The Democratic Green Party of Rwanda, recorded key milestones during 2014:
DGPR’s application to join the National Consultative Forum of Political Organisations was accepted in April and in August, DGPR attended its first meeting where its Treasurer was elected to the position of Vice Spokesperson.

Le Parti Démocratique Vert du Rwanda, le 8 Décembre 2014, a introduit un procès à la Cour suprême, concernant le non-respect de la langue française, tel que stipulé dans l’article 5 de la Constitution rwandaise.
