Ubushakashatsi bwakozwe n’Ishyaka riharanira Demokarasi no Kurengera Ibidukikije (Democratic Green Party of Rwanda/DGPR) buvuga ko imigezi yisuka muri Nyabarongo/Akagera hamwe n’ikirere cyo muri icyo cyogogo cy’Uruzi rwa Nil bihumanye.

Umushakashatsi Dr Damascene Gashumba, avuga ko imyanda ituruka mu ngo ifite uruhare mu guhumanya amazi n’ikirere ku rugero rungana na 47.8%(akurikije imibare y’abamusubije mu bushakashatsi).

Household Waste is Nyabarongo River Biggest Polluter

Communities supposed to be worried about the fate of Rwanda’s most significant river are actually the ones who are its biggest threat, a new study suggests.

The findings of a research commissioned by the Democratic Green Party of Rwanda (DGPR) shows that the waste produced in our homes is biggest cause of Nyabarongo river pollution”.

Democratic Green Party vows not remain silent over Environmental degradation

Officials from the Democratic Green Party of Rwanda have warned that they will not remain silent or give up unless the existing issues in environmental degradation are resolved.

The warning was made on October 16, 2021, during the release of findings of the study which was conducted by the Democratic Green Party of Rwanda to find out the source of Nyabarongo river pollution which also damages other rivers in the Nile Basin.

Rwanda’s Green Party sees Positive outcomes from Global Alliance for a Green New Deal

he Democratic Green Party of Rwanda finds that the existence of Global Alliance for a Green New Deal will play an important role in climate crisis and the crisis of inequalities which are inextricably linked.

Dr. Frank Habineza, Opposition MP and President of the Democratic Green Party of Rwanda and member of the Global Alliance for a Green New Deal said on Monday, July 19, 2021 that “The Alliance is timely because it has been launched just four months ahead of COP26 in Glasgow, the aim is to put the Green New Deal on the global agenda”
