Rwanda : Il faut augmenter un budget alloué à la prévention et la gestion des catastrophes naturelles – Dépité Habineza

Un membre du Parlement du Rwanda, le Dr Frank Habineza demande que lors du vote du budget pour la prochaine année 2023/24, qu’il soit envisagé d’augmenter le montant des fonds affectés à la prévention des catastrophes. Annoncé ce 3 mai 2023, où une pluie diluvienne mêlée de vent s’est abattue sur les parties ouest et nord, provoquant des catastrophes qui ont tué environ 130 personnes et en ont laissé d’autres sans abri.

Le Ministre des Finances, Uzziel Ndagijimana a présenté au Parlement, les deux chambres, le projet de loi portant loi de finances 2023/24.

Lack of minimum wage should trigger legislation change - MPs

Almost five years ago, the Parliament enacted a law regulating labour in Rwanda. This important legislation left key minimum wage provision details at the discretion of the Minister in Charge of Labour to determine – but it has not yet been set.

The effects of this situation are far-reaching; from employees’ welfare as some get small pay that does not match the current high cost of living, to the controversies in compensation payments for accident victims by insurers, among others, according to some lawmakers, labour unions and insurance firms.

Dr. Habineza finds Media Freedom in Rwanda at Critical stage

The President of the Democratic Green Party of Rwanda, Dr. Frank Habineza, who is also a Member of Parliament, has said that the imprisonment of some Rwandan journalists is one of the reasons why the Rwandan media landscape is not free.

Dr. Frank Habineza said that he is ready to submit his candidacy in the next Presidential elections.

During an interview with UMUSEKE, Dr. Habineza talked about what has been done in the party and what he thinks he would change when he is elected as the President of Rwanda.
