International Greens call for democracy and Green action!

International Green delegates from 70 countries met in Dakar, Senegal, 29th March - 1st April, for the first ever Global Green Congress held in Africa (www.dakar2012.org) and tackled issues such as solidarity, democracy, biodiversity, climate change, and the future of the Global Greens parties.

 

This Global Greens gathering was preceded by the 2nd African Greens Congress on 28th and 29th March 2012, which was supported by Green Forum Sweden and the 3rd Global Young Greens Congress, from 27th-29th March 2012.

Habineza elected spokesperson for political parties’ forum

 The General Assembly of the National Consultative Forum of Political Organisations (NFPO) has elected Frank Habineza and Athanasie Nyiragwaneza as the Forum’s spokesperson and vice spokesperson, respectively.

Habineza is the Chairman of the Democratic Green party of Rwanda while Nyiragwaneza is a member of Social Democratic Party (PSD). They are both members of parliament.

The forum brings together all the 11 political parties where they discuss pressing issues affecting the country and devise common solutions.

Frank Habineza Voted Social Affairs Parliamentary Commission Vice President

Opposition MP and President of the Democratic Green Party of Rwanda, Frank Habineza, has been elected Vice President, Social Affairs Commission, Parliament, Chamber of Deputies.

Habineza had no contender, and garnered 100% vote of the parliament (78 out of 78).

He said after his victory that, “Together with others we shall work hard to advocate for the well-being of Rwandans.”

The Democratic Green Party of Rwanda receives 5% in the parliamentary elections of 3 September 2018 which has enabled the party to enter the Rwandan Parliament for the next five-year term (2018-2023).

Rwanda National Electoral Commission Confirms 32 DGPR Parliamentary Candidates

The National Electoral commission confirmed 32 out of 34 DGPR parliamentary candidates.

The confirmed candidates include 14 women and 18 men. Electoral campaigns will begin on 13th August and end on 1st September. Elections will be on 2nd and 3rd September 2018.

Rwanda Democratic Green Party has submitted Parliamentary Candidatures to Electoral Commission.

The Democratic Green Party of Rwanda has submitted to the National Electoral Commission a list of 34 parliamentary candidates, which includes 16 women and 18 men.

DGPR’s third congress held on 23 June 2018 confirmed the party’s participation in the upcoming parliamentary elections. It also confirmed the revised political platform which will serve as a manifesto. Election will be held on 2nd and 3rd September, while campaigns will begin on 13th August and end on 1st September.

Press Statement: Third Congress of the Democratic Green Party of Rwanda confirmed Parliamentary Candidates

The Democratic Green Party of Rwanda is pleased to inform members of the media and the public that it successfully held its third congress on 23rd June 2018 in Kigali, Rwanda.

The congress approved 55 Parliamentary Candidates, the provisional list includes 21 women and 34 men. The final list will be submitted to the National Electoral Commission between 12-25 July. Parliamentary elections are planned for 2nd and 3rd September 2018, while electoral campaigns will commence on 13th August -1st September.
