DGPR Trained members in Kirehe, Nyagatare and Gisagara Districts

 The Democratic Green Party of Rwanda successfully trained its members and held consultative meetings in Kirehe, Nyagatare and Gisagara Districts on 10th and 11th March 2018.

During these meetings members elected candidates who will represent them in the upcoming parliamentary elections. They also elected elected district committee leaders.

Rutsiro and Gakenke Districts get DGPR Parliamentary candidates

The Democratic Green Party of Rwanda is pleased to inform the general public that it concluded party meetings and trainings in Rutsiro and Gakenke districts on 3rd March 2018, where members elected both female and male parliamentary candidates, who will represent them in the upcoming parliamentary elections in Rwanda.

The leadership trainings offered skills in management of political conflicts, rules and regulations regarding elections and electoral campaigns, women involvement in decision making organs, gender issues and the party’s political ideology.

Parliamentary Candidates in Huye and Kamonyi Elected

The Democratic Green Party of Rwanda is pleased to inform its members and the public that it concluded district meetings for party members in Huye and Kamonyi districts on 17th and 18th February 2018. Party members also had an opportunity to elect two parliamentary candidates, both male and female, who will represent those districts. They also elected district committee leaders.

DGPR Concluded Consultative meetings and trainings in Rubavu and Karongi Districts

The Democratic Green Party of Rwanda successfully held consultative meetings and trainings for party members in Rubavu and Karongi districts on 28th January 2018. During the consultative meetings, members elected two parliamentary candidates, both male and female, who will represent those districts.

The Democratic Green Party of Rwanda, takes on this opportunity to thank all party members, well-wishers, the media fraternity, Government of Rwanda, the International community, the Global Greens Family and the public for the different support accorded to the party during 2017.

The Democratic Green Party of Rwanda scored highly during 2017. It was the year, when all consolidated achievements, since its formation in August 2009, were put at display.

Green Party seeks poll reforms

Rwanda Democratic Green Party (DGPR), the country’s main opposition party, plans to challenge sections of the electoral law that restrict political parties from accepting foreign donations, ahead of the September 2018 parliamentary elections.

Party leader Frank Habineza said his party is working on a document that details shortcomings caused by electoral legal norms.

“We are concerned that we continue to have a law prohibiting political parties from soliciting funds from NGOs, church organisations and international donors,” said Mr Habineza.
